Experts of the Gorbachev Foundation and the Committee of Civil Initiatives stated in their latest report that Russia needs a new restructuring.
According to the authors of the report, this will allow the country to go on a sustainable path of development. Experts of the Gorbachev Foundation believe that in Russia it is necessary to revive democratic institutions, as well as political competition. In addition, the country must abandon rivalry with the West.
The authors of the report are confident that the stimulus that will push the country to a new restructuring will be the same problems that forced the Soviet leadership to begin reforms in 1985. Among other things, analysts point out such factors as “the inefficiency and underdevelopment of the political system, economic and technological backwardness, archaic ways of interaction between the state and society, and raising to a dangerous level the foreign political confrontation”.
