Depends on what kind of gift. The best gift is what a person really wants, what he needs is interesting, pleasant. You can give an expensive piece of equipment, which in principle is useless to a person, and you can find a more budgetary gift, but present what is good for this person. Of course, if the type of gift is defined correctly, in many cases, what is more expensive will be better quality, more interesting, more durable, and so on, but not a fact. There are also handmade gifts: they are treated differently depending on the degree of execution and the need for a gift. When choosing a gift, I think, first of all, you need to focus on the person himself, to determine what he would like, fit, it would be interesting and necessary, and there already choose the best of the possible.
I agree about the cost.

I try to give my loved ones the most pleasant gifts, sometimes I choose certificates as a gift they like, and I also, because the choice is huge and each certificate is original in its own way.
There are interesting options for a gift, I really liked the balloon flight, I have long wanted, but still nothing.
